UPDATE: State Police say that the newborn taken from St. Francis Medical Center on Thursday night has been returned and is in good health.

Troopers provided that update around noon time on Friday, October 23.

A Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory was issued on behalf of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office for the newborn who was taken from the hospital just after 11:20 pm on Thursday, October 22.

The baby, identified as Travis Hargrove, Jr., was born on October 22, 2020, at 7:04 a.m.

Troopers say the possible father, 35-year-old Travis Hargrove, reportedly left the hospital with the newborn concealed in a black backpack.

He was last seen walking south on Jackson Street, away from the hospital, state police said.

Troopers did not say whether Hargrove had been captured.

Anyone with information should contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 318-329-1200.
