St. James Parish officials announced late Wednesday night that a patient at St. James Parish Hospital has died from coronavirus, The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Officials say the patient was in the 60+ age bracket and had underlying health conditions.
The patient was the one known case of COVID-19 in the parish.
This is the eighth death in the state from the coronavirus.
