Some receiving SNAP benefits in May will see an additional supplement for the month.
The Department of Child and Family Services says that May 2020 Supplemental SNAP Benefists families who are receiving SNAP, but who aren't already at the maximum benefits allotment for their household size, will receive a supplement for May to bring them up to the max.
According to DCFS, for current SNAP recipients, May supplemental benefits will be loaded onto their EBT cards during the week of May 18.
DCFS will be communicating directly with SNAP recipients about these supplements closer to the date.
For people who have applied for SNAP but are not yet certified as eligible to receive benefits, their May supplements will be loaded onto their EBT cards on a rolling weekly basis after their applications are approved.
