Rouses Markets CEO Donny Rouse announced on Wednesday that the company is paying April bonuses to thousands of hourly store employees in appreciation for their work serving the community. Rouses is also moving up scheduled bonuses for store management and employees who oversee store departments. In all, the company is investing $1million in bonuses, shift meals, and other benefits.

The company has provided meals to store employees during their breaks and is also giving team members an additional paid holiday - Easter Sunday.

"We want everyone to have the full day to spend time with family," said Rouse.

Rouses is also increasing protections to support employees. The company is in the process of installing Plexiglass partitions at checkout counters, they have installed floor markers indicating a safe distance to stand, and they are asking cashiers to sanitize after each transaction.

Employees are also being provided free access to Ochsner Anywhere Care, a telehealth program, until the end of May.
