Reward of $10K offered in road rage homicide

Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers is offering up to $10,000 for information on a road rage shooting that happened on Memorial Day near the Ocean Springs exit on Interstate 10 in Mississippi.

According to police, the shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Memorial Day on the westbound side of the interstate. The victim has been identified as Brandon Box, 30.

Police say he was driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 truck and pulling an enclosed trailer. The suspect vehicle is identified as a small white SUV with a Louisiana plate. Police believe a black female was driving the vehicle with a black male in the front seat. There were other people in the vehicle, but police don't know how many, or what their race or gender were.

The incident lasted for nearly 20 miles, police say, before someone in the SUV fired multiple rounds into the truck; one struck Box and he died, police say.

*The road rage activity occurred between the 68 mile marker and the 51 mile marker on Westbound Interstate 10.

*Law Enforcement has not confirmed that the suspect vehicle came into MS from Alabama.

*There was a firecracker thrown from the suspect vehicle into the bed of the victim’s truck at the foot of the Pascagoula bridge near the rest area.

*The suspect used a 9 mm caliber weapon.
