VERNON PARISH, La. - Remains found in Pitkin, that were initially thought to be human, turned out to be those of a bear.
Photographs of the possible human remains were electronically submitted to the LSU Faces Lab, according to Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
Upon review by LSU personnel, the remains were determined to be that of a bear.
