BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Louisiana man was arrested and accused of firing a gun at his neighbor who refused to turn down loud music, authorities said.

Byron Johnson, 57, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a firearm, news outlets reported.

Baton Rouge police said they were dispatched to a house in reference to a shots fired call. The victim told police Johnson confronted him regarding loud music coming from inside his home.

The victim refused to turn down the music and Johnson walked back to his home, police said.

Johnson returned with a handgun and shot at the victim once but missed, hitting the victim's front door, an arrest record said. A shell casing was found near the door, police said.

No injuries were reported. It's unclear whether Johnson has an attorney who can comment on his behalf.
