Investigators with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Special Victims Unit arrested a Pineville man on Thursday for online impersonation.

Police say Kevin P. Miles was arrested on 250 counts of online impersonation after an investigation began in July of a male pretending to be a female on social media. The intent was to convince other females to send illicit sexual images to a fake account, according to LSP. During the investigation, a person of interest was identified.

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was issued for a residence in Pineville. Following the search warrant, Miles was arrested and booked into the Rapides Parish Correctional Center.

Police say Miles used the fake account for more than 10 years. It was used to communicate and/or exchange images with over a thousand social media users.

LSP reminds residents that their online reporting system is available to the public through a convenient and secure reporting form that is submitted to the appropriate investigators.

Citizens can access the form by visiting lsp.org and clicking the Suspicious Activity link.
