A Pierre Part woman has come up with a creative way to hug her parents while still following recommended safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kathy Alleman posted a video to her Facebook page on Tuesday, saying, "Finally, I'm going to get my hug from my parents today."

"When ya mom n dad with tears in their eyes say 'I don’t know how much longer we can go without hugging our kids' you become desparate enough to invent the HUG ME CURTAIN!" her post reads.

The "Hug Me Curtain" is a clear shower curtain, set up outside in Alleman's driveway and thoroughly sanitized. When her parents show up in the video, it's emotional all around when they realize what the curtain is for.

"It's a little still wet on y'all's side, but I needed a hug!" Alleman can be heard saying.

After these hugs, Alleman says the curtain was "Cloroxed and sprayed, ready for the next hugs." She told BR Proud that she sprays the curtain with disinfectant, rinses it with a hose pipe, and then dries it with a blower after each use.

The video has since been shared over 4,000 times. "Love this, brought tears to my eyes," "This is so sweet," and "This made me cry," read comments.
