A Popeye's franchise owner says the much-hyped sandwich will return to its stores in early November.
Sun Holdings owns 150 restaurants, which is about 10 percent of the 1500 stores nationwide. The company says about 400 new crew members will be hired to deal with the expected high volume, Bloomberg reports. And no, none of them are in Louisiana. Sun's Popeye's restaurants are in Oklahoma, Texas and Flordia, according to its corporate website.
So far, there's no word from the company's corporate office; when a desperate sandwich-seeker tweeted at the company last month and was told nothing more precise than "soon."
The company used social media to whip fast-foodies into a frenzy earlier this year with the sandwich. Then, in August, it was removed from menus, spurring specuation that another marketing event was planned.
