PLAQUEMINE — One person is dead and another is missing after a tugboat collision in Iberville Parish overnight.
According to The Advocate, the incident happened around 9:30 pm Monday at Jack Miller's Landing on Bayou Sorrel.
The paper reports that four boaters were traveling down the waterway and stopped at Jack Miller's Landing. Upon leaving the landing in a small boat, a tugboat collided with that boat knocking all four men from the vessel, according to the Iberiville Sheriff's Office.
Two were able to swim to shore. One man has died and another is still missing. A search is ongoing for the missing person.
