The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a shooting investigation at the Jefferson Gun Outlet in Metairie that left three people dead.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto said deputies were dispatched shortly before 3:00 Saturday afternoon to a report of a shooting at the outlet on Airline Drive. Deputies located several victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Three individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene and two others were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The two transported victims are in stable condition.

Lopinto added that at this time it appears the suspect shot two victims inside the location then was engaged and shot outside the location by multiple other individuals. The suspect is one of the deceased on scene, officials say.

KATC will update with more information as it becomes available.
