New Orleans Police have arrested the man accused of stealing the art and supplies of Jackson Square artists and dumping it into the river.

Landon Semones, 42, was booked with unauthorized entry and 11 counts of theft.

Semones, who is also known as Dade Murphy, is accused of stealing the carts of at least 11 artists, which contained art supples and finished work, from Decatur Street on January 31. The carts had been secured under a breezeway, and the thief had tampered with the lock and stolen the carts stored there.

The theft was caught on surveillance camera, and posted by Project NOLA.

Through investigation, Semones was determined to be the perpetrator in this incident and a warrant was obtained for his arrest, New Orleans Police say.

Police say Semones turned himself in this morning.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080.
