UPDATE: LSP Spokesperson Taylor Scrantz said a sheriff's deputy was executing a search warrant at the motel.
"During the course of serving the warrant, a deputy discharged his firearm and struck a suspect. The suspect sustained fatal injuries," Scrantz added.

Louisiana State Police are investigating an officer involved shooting at a Port Allen motel, according to WBRZ.
Officials say the shooting happened at the Budget 7 Motel on Highway 190 in Port Allen.
This is an ongoing investigation.
