The first Louisiana citizen to die of the COVID19 virus was a Special Olympics athlete who loved fishing, music and the New Orleans Saints, our media partners at The Advocate/Times PIcayune report.

Ives Green, 58, was a resident of a facility serving people with developmental disabilities, and had limited contact with the outside world, the newspapers report. His family said his condition deteriorated so much that the staff at Touro requested and received permission to test him for the virus, and it was positive. He died Saturday.
