The Louisiana Workforce Commission says that it is aware of overpayment notices sent out in error to over 7,000 individuals.

The Commission posted a statement on their website on Thursday, September 17, saying that they are working to correct the technical issue.

Approximately 7,600 individuals received the notices that were generated on September 9 and 10.

A "Notice of Adjustment" will be sent out within the next week to those who received the overpayment notice. According to LWC, the adjustment will indicate that the overpayment balance is $0.

Those impacted will not be required to take any action. Many who received notices did not owe anything related to the issue, LWC says.

An email inbox has been created to take questions related to the overpayment issues. Those who have questions upon receiving their Adjustment notices can send them to Septovrpymtissue@lwc.la.gov.
