On Thursday, the Louisiana Department of Health updated their case list for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), removing Iberia Parish from that list.

Officials say that Iberia Parish was put on the list following information provided to the Office of Public Health by a patient who is presumptive positive for the virus. That patient is being treated in Lafourche Parish as KATC reported on Wednesday. Read more here.

LDH now clarifies the patient currently lives in Lafourche Parish where they have been hospitalized. Cases are reported in Caddo, Lafourche, Jefferson, and Orleans Parishes.

On Wednesday, during a press conference, Iberia Parish was stated as one of the parishes in which a presumptive positive case was reported.

One case has been added to the list of presumptive positive patients in Orleans Parish bringing the state total to 14.

Here is the full updated information for LDH on this change.

"On 3/11, the Department reported a presumptive positive coronavirus result of an Iberia parish resident, based on information provided to the Office of Public Health by the patient's health care provider. Additional investigation revealed that the patient currently lives in Lafourche Parish, where they are hospitalized. We have updated our reporting to list one presumptive positive case in Lafourche. Through contact tracing, we will continue to gather information about this and all of the current presumptive positive cases, so that we can monitor close contacts to prevent the spread of illness."
