With a week of excessive heat warnings ahead of us, The Louisiana Department of Health recommends that Louisianans stay indoors as much as possible because extreme heat can be dangerous and fatal.
Below are tips provided by LDH to keep you and your family safe:
- Close curtains or blinds to block out direct sunlight
- Use fans or air conditioning to maintain a comfortable temperature
- Wear lightweight, breathable clothing
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day
