The Louisiana Department of Health announced on Wednesday an order to all healthcare professionals in the state regarding medical and surgical procedures.
Any and all medical and surgical procedures that can be safely postponed for 30 days will be pushed back. The 30-day period runs from March 19 to April 21, unless extended by the department.
The directives apply to all licensed healthcare facilities and professionals in the state.
Tuesday, the Department of Health issued an order to state dentists to cancel all routine, non-essential dental procedures until April 16.
