Lawyer permanently disbarred for spending clients' Deepwater Horizon funds

New Orleans lawyer, Akello Dangerfield, has been permanently disbarred for spending more than $100,000 of a client settlement from the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon disaster.

According to our media partners at the Advocate, in addition to being disbarred Dangerfield is asked to pay restitution to the couple.

The Supreme Court says Dangerfield did not inform the couple that she received the settlement funds, and when asked about the funds she denied receiving them.
