Lake Wellness Centers in Louisiana are transitioning to online methods during the COVID-19 outbreak to continue to treat patients struggling with opioid addiction.

In keeping with traditional "group therapy" treatments, addiction patients will be able to meet virtually with physicians and counselors while following the Governor's restrictions on gatherings larger than 50 people.

The center says that the secure online video conferences will maintain HIPAA compliance.

"While we may not know how long this virus will impact our communities, we want patients to know we are here to help them. We believe that, by working together, this method of communication will allow us to continue to provide safe and effective treatment to patients in need, particularly those with opioid addiction."
