The Louisiana Department of Health has conducted eight COVID-19 tests in the state, officials report.
All of those tests have been negative. There are no confirmed cases of the virus in Louisiana.
LDH says that since they now have the capacity to test in-state, tests can be turned around "very quickly."
The Department is in contact with CDC and says they have sent information to health care providers statewide with recommendations for screening and testing.
Anyone with questions regarding COVID-19 in Louisiana can contact the LDH general information line at 1-855-523-2652 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Information is also available online at ldh.la.gov/coronavirus.
