Police say a gas station clerk was shot and killed Monday during an overnight armed robbery in Kenner.
The incident took place at around 2:10 am on Monday, November 30 at a Shell gas station located on Williams Boulevard.
Police say two suspects entered the convenience store and began looking around as if they were planning to buy something.
One suspect then approached the store clerk and produced a handgun while demanding money.
Police say the second suspect stood by the door of the business during the interaction.
After handing over all the money in the register, police say the first suspect walked behind the counter and shot the clerk who was "helplessly on his knees."
The clerk was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Police identified the victim was 30-year-old Abd Del Ghader Sylla.
"This was a brutal, senseless murder," said Kenner Police in a press release. "The Kenner Police are in the early stages of this investigation and are asking the public's assistance in identifying the two suspects pictured in surveillance photos."
