IBM to conduct career fair for Client Innovation Center in Baton Rouge

Event at Baton Rouge Community College will help fill 35 information technology positions

BATON ROUGE, La. - IBM will conduct a career fair on Saturday, Feb. 1, in Baton Rouge to fill openings for experienced and emerging information technology professionals at its flagship Client Innovation Center in downtown Baton Rouge. The 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. career fair will take place at Baton Rouge Community College's Bienvenue Student Center, located at 201 Community College Drive.

LED FastStart®, the nation's top-ranked state workforce development program, is supporting the event. Interviews will take place on-site for all interested candidates, and attendees are asked to dress professionally and bring their résumés.

To access the Bienvenue Student Center at BRCC's Mid City Campus, take Exit 158 on Interstate 10 and travel north on College Drive, then turn left on Foster Drive. Continue on Foster across Government Street and turn right onto the Baton Rouge Community College campus. The Bienvenue Student Center will be on the left. Signage will be available to direct participants to the building.

IBM's operations in Louisiana have played a significant role in advancing the state's software, digital media and IT services sector, the fastest-growing industry sector in the state. A key to the sector's success is Louisiana's strategic investment at higher education campuses throughout the state to expand degree and certification programs in computer science and related STEM fields. IBM operates two Client Innovation Centers in Louisiana, one in downtown Baton Rouge and one in Century Village next to CenturyLink's headquarters in Monroe.

IBM is seeking to fill approximately 35 available positions in Baton Rouge, and is seeking applicants with skills in analytics; enterprise applications; interactive experience and mobile application development; and experience with Python, Java, SAP, SQL, Oracle and Big Data.
