UPDATE (5:45 p.m.): All lanes are open on I-10 East at Mile Marker 147 (before LA 415) following a fatal crash Friday afternoon. Congestion there is 1 mile in length, DOTD reports.
The diversion at LA 77 (Grosse Tete) has been removed, and congestion there has reached 10 miles in length.
ORIGINAL STORY: I-10 East is closed at Mile Marker 147 (before LA 415) due to a fatal crash.
I-10 East at LA Hwy 77 is currently closed because of the crash, and eastbound traffic is being diverted to LA Hwy 77 to LA Hwy 76 (Rosedale Road).
State Police are currently on the scene of the crash.
DOTD reports that congestion at the diversion is approaching five miles in length.
