WASHINGTON, D.C. — Most members of the Louisiana delegation voted in favor of objecting to the certification of the Electoral College votes on Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The vote was stalled for several hours when protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol building where congress was holding a joint session to certify the presidential election.

According to the roll call vote tallies for the U.S. House and Senate, five out of the seven lawmakers from Louisiana voted against the certification of Electoral Votes for Arizona and Pennsylvania.

During the U.S. House vote on the objection of votes for Arizona, three congressman voted in favor of objecting:

  • Rep. Clay Higgins (LA-03)
  • Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04)
  • Rep. Steve Scalise (LA-01)

Rep. Cedric Richond (LA-02), the state’s lone Democrat congressman, and Rep. Garret Graves (LA-06), voted against the objection to the Electoral College votes from Arizona.

In the U.S. Senate, Sen. Bill Cassidy voted against the objection to Arizona’s Electoral College votes while Sen. John Kennedy voted for the objection.

During the U.S. House vote on the objection of votes for Pennsylvania, four congressman voted in favor of objecting:

  • Rep. Garret Graves (LA-06)
  • Rep. Clay Higgins (LA-03)
  • Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04)
  • Rep. Steve Scalise (LA-01)

Rep. Cedric Richond (LA-02), a Democrat, also voted against the objection to the Electoral College votes from Pennsylvania.

In the U.S. Senate, both Cassidy and Kennedy voted against the objection to Pennsylvania’s Electoral College votes.
