BATON ROUGE — Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards was hospitalized on Friday after experiencing some breathing issues.
According to family spokesperson Leo Honeycutt, Edwards was rushed to the hospital around 4:00 pm and has undergone several tests. He has tested negative for COVID-19 and the flu.
Honeycutt says that Edwards will be staying overnight at Our Lady of the Lake hospital in Baton Rouge as a precaution.
