Ochsner Health received some of its first supplies of the FDA approved COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, December 14.
Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine was approved under Emergency Use Authorization on Friday and distributed to hospitals and health facilities across the United States.
The first individuals to receive the vaccine are those working in health care environments.
A live stream of the first shots being administered at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans was shared to their Facebook page on Monday morning.
Governor John Bel Edwards was in attendance as the first Pfizer vaccines were administered.
