CLINTON, La. (AP) - A former Louisiana police chief who has been arrested twice on malfeasance counts has been arrested again.

News outlets report former Clinton police chief Fred Dunn was arrested Thursday for possession of stolen goods.

State Police spokesman Trooper Taylor Scrantz says the investigation is ongoing and isn't tied to any town operations.

Dunn hasn't served as the East Feliciana Parish town's police chief since he resigned in October after his first arrest. Dunn and Clinton Mayor Lori Ann Bell were accused of inappropriately entering into a contract to lease four police vehicles.

Dunn was arrested again in November after he was accused of stealing more than $8,000 from the police department's narcotics fund.

Dunn was booked into the East Feliciana Parish Jail where his malfeasance cases are ongoing.
