Normally packed with visitors and locals, the French Quarter now looks more like a quiet residential neighborhood.

Drone footage taken on Thursday shows the streets uncharacteristically bare as the city feels the effects of the coronavirus outbreak.

On Monday, March 21, Governor John Bel Edwards ordered that Louisiana residents stay at home to flatten the curve and limit the spread of COVID-19.

So far, Orleans Parish has seen the largest number of cases and deaths in the state.

On Thursday, March 27, 1,170 cases of the coronavirus and 57 coronavirus-related death were being reported in the parish.

Statewide, 2,746 cases of the coronavirus and 119 deaths were reported.
