A California woman died Sunday after her car crashed into a fire truck that was at the scene of an earlier traffic incident.
The accident happened on Interstate 12 in Baton Rouge.
Shayna Olivia Wilcox, 22, of Hesperia, California, died in the crash, Baton Rouge Police say.

The crash is still under investigation, but police say it happened about 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
Wilcox was traveling west on the Interstate in a 2015 Dodge Dart.
Prior to that time, a Volvo semi-truck had hit some debris on the road which punctured its diesel tank, and pulled to the shoulder. A fire truck and other first responders arrived at the scene and blocked the adjacent lane of travel with emergency lights. They were assessing the diesel leak when Wilcox's vehicle came along and crashed into the fire truck, police say.
Police believe that after the initial impact she lost control and struck the Volvo semi-truck. Wilcox died at the scene. No one else was injured.
