Congressman Higgins to vote against impeachment, 25th amendment resolutions

Lafayette Congressman Clay Higgins says he will vote against articles of impeachment and a resolution that calls on Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment.

In a statement released Tuesday evening, Higgins calls these resolutions, "acts of political vengeance."

Full statement:

"I do NOT support the removal of President Trump through impeachment nor the dubious ploy to invoke the 25th Amendment. These are acts of political vengeance and only serve to further divide our country."

We've reached out to other members of Louisiana's Congressional delegation for comment on this week's votes.
