The Coast Guard and local agencies are searching for a person in the water near Empire.
Officials say the man's name is Mark Matherne of Slidell.
Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 1:30 p.m. of a sunken vessel approximately six miles southwest of Empire.
Assisting in the search are the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office.
