The Cameron Parish mosquito control airplane will be spraying this afternoon during daylight hours due to safety reasons, officials say.
Targeted areas include Grand Chenier, Oak Grove, Cameron, Little Chenier, Chenier Purdue.
A contract plane will be spraying Johnson Bayou, Holly Beach, and Big Lake tonight.
Spray sensitive residents should seek shelter during the applications.
The parish also will have spray trucks spraying many other areas tonight.
This schedule of spraying with planes and trucks daily in areas with the highest mosquito populations will continue until they are reduced to a more tolerable level.
