The Better Business Bureau of South Central Louisiana issued a scam alert on Wednesday for those who share their senior photos on Facebook and other social media.

According to the BBB, scammers or hackers who surf through social media sites could see these #Classof2020 or #Classof1980 posts for example, and will now have the name of your high school and graduation year, which are common online security questions.

The BBB says it cautions everyone to be aware of what they are sharing, because even if you think it’s just going to your friends it could also be going somewhere else.

The BBB also offered some tips to those wanting to share senior photos on social media:

  • Resist the temptation to play along.
  • Review the security settings.
  • Change your security questions and settings to your banking and other websites if you’re nervous you may have shared something possibly opening you up to fraud.
