Authorities have identified the two victims in Wednesday's plane crash on Barksdale Air Force Base.

18-year-old Jet Andrew Montgomery and 19-year-old Jonathan Cole Harris, both of Bossier City, died in the crash, Bossier Parish Sheriff's deputies confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Local air traffic controllers lost radar contact with the light aircraft over the east side reservation of Barksdale shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to a release from Barksdale. The base was notified by the Federal Aviation Administration at 5 a.m., and first responders were dispatched for a search with intent to rescue operation.

Personnel from the base and the sheriff's office located the aircraft and the two deceased passengers at 8:25 a.m.

After rescue attempts were made and the scene was deemed safe, a host of emergency response units from both Barksdale and the local area moved in to aid in the investigation.

The investigation, now coordinated between the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board, is ongoing.
