On Friday, the Louisiana State Police announced the graduation of its 99th Cadet Class.
51 cadets completed their journey to becoming a Louisiana State Trooper as graduation ceremonies were held Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
Cadets began their training on August 25, 2019. At that time, 61 cadets from across the state entered into 23 week journey through the Louisiana State Police Training Academy. According to LSP, cadets received training in various subjects including crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, impaired driving detection, traffic incident management, and leadership in addition to a rigorous physical training regimen.
51 of those cadets reached their goal on Friday January 31, receiving the distinguished badge of the Louisiana State Police. The newly graduated Troopers will deploy across the state, where they will participate in a 10-14 week field training program while supervised by a veteran Louisiana State Trooper.
