BATON ROUGE — The 2020 Louisiana Legislative Session convenes today at the state capitol.
The session officially opens at noon, with Governor John Bel Edwards giving his annual State of the State Address at 1 p.m.
This year, lawmakers will tackle a number of hot-button issues. Among them: The legalization of recreational marijuana use, the legalization of sports betting, the abolition of the death penalty, and lowering auto insurance rates.
