On Wednesday, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise reunited with one of the capitol police officers who helped save his life during a shooting two years ago.

This morning, Scalise and Special Agent Crystal Griner met back at the field where the shooting took place. The anniversary of the incident, which left both Griner and Scalise injured, is coming up on June 14.

A video posted to Scalise’s social media pages shows the two reuniting following a Wednesday morning practice for the Congressional Baseball Game.

Since the shooting, Scalise, who was shot in the hip, has undergone several surgeries.

A congressional aide and lobbyist were also shot.

Scalise gave a short speech on the bravery that the officers showed and how grateful he is for their heroism.

“I’m so proud of Crystal and David. If they weren’t out there that day and risking their lives, y’all can be proud to know that the best of law enforcement was on display that day,” said Scalise.
