History was made Friday when the 98th Cadet Class graduated from the Louisiana State Police Training Academy.

Among the 48 cadets who graduated was the daughter of a Trooper; something that’s never happened in the 82-year history of the State Police.

Trooper Tiah Larvadain became the first Trooper to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Trooper Tiah Larvadain’s mother, Lt. Treone Larvadain, has been a Louisiana State Trooper since 2006. Today, Lt. Larvadain was proud to pin a State Police badge on her daughter as she graduated with her fellow classmates. Trooper Larvadain will continue the tradition her mother started when she reports to duty at Troop C.

“Along with the Larvadains, three other members of Cadet Class 98 became legacy Troopers today as they joined family members within the ranks of State Police,” a post on the State Police Facebook page states. “Louisiana State Police has a proud tradition of family. Wherever their journey began, we are glad that each of these newly graduated Troopers has found a home in the Louisiana State Police family.”
