Louisiana State Police are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in Livingston Parish; the man shot has been identified as 43-year-old Jackie Sampson.
Troopers say that deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were responding to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Denham Springs when they encountered an armed man. Shots were fired by deputies at the scene and troopers say that the man was struck and received life-threatening injuries.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.
Louisiana State Police Troop A and the Louisiana State Police Crime Scene Unit are assisting with the investigation.
An investigation is currently ongoing and no other details were provided.
