A 19-year-old has died from injuries she sustained in a crash on US Hwy 90 in Terrebonne Parish.
Troopers say 19-year-old Breanna Bourgeois of Gray succumbed Wednesday morning to injuries she received in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, July 30.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Bourgeois was traveling east on US 90 near LA 316 in a 2008 Nissan Altima when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of her vehicle. Troopers say the vehicle then exited the right side of the roadway before striking a tree.
Troopers say it was raining heavily at the time.
Bourgeois suffered critical injuries and was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
A passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. Both were properly restrained.
The crash remains under investigation.
