Veterans Day observance pauses COVID-19 state numbers update

The Louisiana Department of Health says that the state's COVID-19 dashboard will not be updated on Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day.

The department says that all weekly updates will be published on Thursday, November 12.

Pauses in COVID-19 reporting for the state will also be observed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day, according to the state.

As of November 10, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 1,307 and the number of deaths had increased by 10, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

According to LDH, the collection dates for most of Tuesday's cases fell between Nov. 3 - 9, 2020.

96 percent of the cases reported to the state Tuesday were community spread, while 4 percent were in congregate settings.

LDH reported Tuesday that 172,210 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/2/20).

Since Monday, 26,460 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 2,919,903.

As of Tuesday, 684 patients were hospitalized (up 32 from Monday), 66 of those patients were on ventilators (down 5 from Monday).

  • Jefferson Davis - 1,414 cases (up 23) | 45 deaths (no change)
  • Lafayette - 9,742 cases (up 66) | 141 deaths (up 1)
  • St. Landry - 3,847 cases (up 33) | 140 deaths (up 1)
  • St. Martin - 2,328 cases (up 26) | 65 deaths (no change)
  • St. Mary - 2,087 cases (up 19) | 87 deaths (no change)
  • Vermilion - 2,189 (up 17) | 70 deaths (no change)
