The Brookshire Grocery Company, which owns Super 1 Foods stores, is joining other store chains to offer help to its customers who are senior citizens that are considered to be in high-risk of exposure to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to a release from the Texas-based company, it is strongly encouraging that its first hour of operations in its stores be reserved as a dedicated time for senior citizens.

They are asking for their customers' help in honoring this practice and in moving any senior guests to the front of the check-out line throughout the day.

Additionally, they are announcing a temporary 5% daily discount for senior citizens in all Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market and FRESH by Brookshire’s through May 5.

The discount is available to guests age 60 or older with valid ID. Additionally, they have waived fees for all guests on Curbside orders, where available, through May 5, as another way to help customers who are depending on them for this service.

The company has also adjusted the business hours in its stores from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., to allow them to clean, stock shelves as product arrives and allow employees to get some much-needed rest.

They are also are honoring its advertised promotions and prices, but please advise that ads are prepared weeks in advance and not all featured products will be available due to the current high demand. Also, rainchecks will not be issued or honored at this time.

The company is also encouraging customers to avoid overbuying, as they will be limiting returns on purchases for safety and health purposes.
