Officials with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) will host a Zoom Town Hall next week aimed at educating citizens about the COVID-19 vaccines.

The Town Hall, called Vaccination Conversation, will be held Tuesday, February 9, at 1 p.m. It's designed to connect anyone who is concerned about the COVID-19 vaccine with healthcare experts who can provide information about the vaccines and how the strategies for their distribution will impact participants.

Vaccination Conversation will feature presentations by State Health Officer and Interim Assistance Secretary for the Louisiana Office of Public Health Dr. Joseph Kanter and Ginger Hunt, a Nurse Practitioner Specialist and the founder of a nonprofit network of 11 Federally Qualified Health Centers across five parishes.

Dr. Kanter will provide up to date information about the vaccines and who is eligible to receive them. Hunt will speak on access to healthcare in rural communities.

A question and answer segment will follow the presentations. Participation is open to anyone who is concerned about the vaccines. Those interested in participating can register using this link.

Those who miss the presentation will be able to view it when it's publicly posted at ConquerCOVID19.la.
