SLEMCO is immediately implementing procedures to help ensure that employees will be healthy and available to restore any possible power outages, as the nation prepares for the possibility of widespread Covid-19 cases.

Field crews are being separated into groups and are being assigned to specific geographic areas throughout the service area. Each of these groups is being isolated from each other to prevent the spread of the virus among them. This is being done in order to maintain enough field crews healthy enough to restore power. Contract crews are also on stand-by. They will be kept separate from our in-house employees for the same reason. To protect both the public and our employees, all crews have been instructed to keep an appropriate distance from customers as they restore power.

They are still taking requests for new services, but will not be building those new services at this time. This is to protect both the customers and employees.

Our main lobby and service centers in Crowley, Kaplan and Washington will be closed to the public as of 4:30 pm March 16, 2020. Payments can be made by mail, online at www.slemco.com or at a kiosk at both the Carencro and Lafayette offices. Payments can also be made anywhere retailers accept Moneygram. Further, disconnections are temporarily suspended. Billing questions will be handled by phone at 337-896-5200.

Electric service questions can be answered by calling our service department at 337-896-5551. Outages can be reported by calling 1-888-275-3626 or you can login to your SmartHub account.

SLEMCO's website and Facebook page will provide updates as needed.
