Several Walmart, Sam's Club stores plan to administer COVID-19 vaccine

Walmart and Sam's Club stores are preparing to administer the COVID-19 vaccine throughout the country when public health officials allow it and supply can meet demand.

The stores will offer the vaccine seven days a week at their more than 5,000 pharmacies through planned in-store vaccination clinics and through large community events.

Walmart officials say at full capacity, they expect to be able to deliver 10-13 million doses per month when supply and allocations allow.

Currently the vaccine is available to a select group of individuals, including those 70 years of age or older, health care workers, and nursing home staff and residents. For more information on who can get the vaccine right now, click here.

When the vaccine is available for Walmart and Sams to begin administering, you must make an appointment.

The following stores and clubs plan to assist in distributing the vaccine, with those in Acadiana in bold:

  • Franklin
  • Houma
  • Jennings
  • Mansura
  • Many
  • Minden
  • Natchitoches
  • New Iberia
  • New Roads
  • Port Allen
  • Winnfield
  • Winnsboro
