A series of "tele-town halls" will be hosted over the next week by Louisiana Public Health Officials as the state prepares for Phase One reopening.
The Louisiana Public Health Institute and the Louisiana Department of Health announced that the regional town halls will begin on Thursday, May 7.
The goal of the informational sessions, according to LDH, is to educate the community about COVID-19 response measures, discuss the phased reopening approach, share information about available resources, and address community concerns.
LDH says the dialogue will also focus on equitable health outcomes for all Louisianans, especially the African-American community who has been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
The "COVID-19: Preparing for the Next Phase" information sessions will be hosted through the online "Go To Meeting" web service.
Those wishing to participate must register for the meetings.
