The City of Jeanerette and Second Harvest Food Bank partnered to distribute food supply boxes to residents in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
The food was issued at Ward 8 Recreation Center in Jeanerette on Friday.
It was a drive thru, no touch distribution, and all residents were required to wear masks or coverings.
Mayor Carol Bourgeois, Jr. also shared an important message.
"I just wanted to tell the folks to be safe, mask up, and understand that social distancing is important. Just follow the rules; comply with what the governor and the state put in place."
