The Diocese of Lafayette says that they have already sent out directives to their churches and entities on the implementation on phase 1 of reopening.

This information was released following the announcement by Governor John Bel Edwards on Monday and the rescinding of the "stay at home" order on Friday May 15.

What the phase 1 reopening means.

According to the diocese, the directives include maximum 25% occupancy rate of each church, social distancing at all times, and hygiene precautions. Directives relating to outdoor Masses remain in effect as they were previously set.

B"ishop Deshotel is grateful that the number of new cases statewide has been declining. The new directives will enable the faithful of the Diocese to begin practicing their faith in their churches and to nourish their spiritual lives. Thanks to all who observed the 'stay at home' directives which proved effective. Also, thanks again to all medical personnel and first responders." a release states.
